New Hamble to the Isle of Wight ferry service operating until Sunday 16 August.

There is a special Cowes Week ferry service running between Friday 7th to Sunday 16th August 2015. This route will operate between Trinity Landing on the parade in Cowes and Hamble Quay in Hamble-le-Rice. Swaythling Station remembers World War One

On Tuesday 16 June volunteers of the Three Rivers Community Rail Partnership, civic leaders and pupils from Cantell Secondary School in Southampton held an event at Swaythling Railway Station to mark the existence of a Remount Depot in the area during World War One.

Station Walks Book Launch on Saturday 27th June

The Three Rivers Community Rail Partnership and Transition Southampton are pleased to announce the launch of the long awaited Station Walks Guide. This 88 page guide includes 38 walks from railway stations from Salisbury to Southampton Central, Redbridge to Bursledon and all stations in between as well as other information about places to visit, history and travel.

Railway volunteers raise over £340 for charity

Last Saturday, volunteers from the Partnership's Romsey Station group attended the Romsey Show at Broadlands as part of their ongoing commemorations of World War One.

In conjunction with Combat Stress charity the volunteers staffed a table in the World War One exhibition tent and held a raffle for teddy bears dressed in replica uniforms from the time. (The uniforms had been specially made by Romsey residents for this occasion.) In addition, wrist bands were sold, details of the proposed war memorial at Romsey Station displayed and a great deal of rail information was given out.

Our volunteers at Sholing have been busy starting a new train service at their local station. It doesn't go anywhere, but has become an instant hit with the passengers and passers by.

Not only does the Three Rivers Community Rail Partnership have sheep at Mottisfont and Dunbridge Station, but now we now have our own flower power train at Sholing!

Last Saturday the Royal Wessex steamed through Sholing Station recreating a scene from years gone by, much to the delight of the spectators who turned up to experience this event.

It was reported that stray sheep had been found at Mottisfont and Dunbridge Station this weekend, but fortunately, they have been rounded up and shepherded well by our local volunteers.

The next morning clear up session at St Denys Station is due this coming Saturday 26 April 2014 from 1130 to 1300. All are welcome to attend where we shall undertake a litter pick up in the station car park off Osborne Road North and then cut back some foliage at the bottom of the ramp to platform 1.

Winnie Sedgwick, a local resident, is the widow of the last in a line of station masters at Netley Station who shared the family name. St Denys Station clear up morning 25 January 2014

A special thank you to the 16 volunteers who turned up last Saturday morning to continue with improving St Denys Station in Southampton.

The station car park was cleared of more litter, overgrown vegetation and some graffiti by a mixture of residents, scouts and volunteers from other stations of the Three Rivers Community Rail Partnership.

Chandler's Ford Station Anniversary Family Bike Ride

On Sunday 13th October Chandlers Ford Railway station is 10 years old. As part of all the anniversary celebrations planned there on the day, there will be an easy, guided, circular family cycle ride from the station starting at 2pm starting from the station forecourt. Clear Up Session At St Denys Railway Station

This is advance notification that the Three Rivers Community Rail Partnership is organising a clear up session at St Denys Railway Station on Saturday 23 November from 1130 to 1330

The primary aim is to clear up the station car park off Osbourne Road South, which has become very overgrown and litter strewn.

Romsey Rail Bus Link Services Success

Now the last day of the Romsey Rail Bus link services has passed it is great to report that this service providing bus and rail links to the Lower Test Valley tourism area has seen a 4.4% increase in passenger numbers. 734 individual passengers used this service this year which is a great boost to rail travel, bus travel and tourism in Test Valley.

Nature Walks from Swaythling Station

The next weekend of nature Walks from Swaythling Station is coming up on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 August 2013.

As before, walks start from Swaythling Station forecourt at 1100 each day and will take just under 2 hours to visit the beautiful medieval church at St Mary's South Stoneham before studying the flora and fauna along the Monks Brook and in the proposed Monks Brook meadow.

Velvet Bus service to Marwell Wildlife


There is now a Velvet bus service running directly to Marwell Wildlife from Eastleigh train station. Fare paying passengers will be entitled to a 10% of admission on production of their Velvet Bus ticket. The bus service will continue until September 2nd.
