West Quay volunteers clear up St Denys Station Car Park

Last Friday, volunteers from West Quay in Southampton and their parent company Hammersons in London helped the Three Rivers Community Rail Partnership clear up the St Denys Station car park off Osborne Road South.

Armed with loppers, brooms, spades, litter pickers and other equipment the volunteers filled nearly 20 bags of rubbish, pruned back the foliage, brushed the car park and sowed wildflower seeds into the cleared beds.

Local residents who passed by stopped to congratulate the group on their tidying work, saying how good the car park looked, as did the staff at the Dolphin Pub next door, who provided much appreciated and delicious refreshments.

Well done and many thanks to all! It's amazing what a few hours and a good number of hands can achieve!
