What a difference volunteers make!

Below are 2 Photographs of Sholing Station as before and after shots. The Three Rivers Community Rail Partnership has had 3 volunteers working at the station for the past year or so. Their love of nature lies behind their enthusiasm for improving the station at which they also undertake litter picks and facilities surveys.

As a result we now have an amazing display of flowers, a clean and tidy station and improvements which otherwise would not have occurred without their interest and generosity of spirit and time.

The passengers have noticed a big change and have commented on the better surroundings. There are still some enhancements the volunteers would like to achieve, but they will take somewhat longer.

In the meantime, well done to the volunteers and thanks. We know you do not wish to be named, so we won't. However, if you pass through the station and see them working away, please give them a wave or a word of encouragement.

If you would like to undertake similar voluntary work at a station near you, which is within the Three Rivers Community Rail Partnership or East Hampshire Community Rail Partnership areas, let us know.
